Reformer pilates

A machine that adapts to you, not the other way round.

The reformer is a sliding carriage under adjustable spring resistance. That is the whole idea — and the reason it suits almost everyone.

Close detail of reformer springs, straps and timber frame

How it works

Resistance, not impact.

The carriage

A platform that glides on rails. Every movement is controlled in both directions, which is where the work comes from.

The springs

Load is added or removed in seconds. Lighter is not always easier — sometimes it demands far more control.

The straps and footbar

They let you work lying, seated, kneeling or standing, so the same machine covers strength, mobility and stretch.

The instruction

The part that matters most. Which is exactly why we cap the room at five.

Five versus twelve

The same class, taught twice as closely.

Larger classes

  • Corrections given to the room
  • Springs set from memory
  • Progress judged by feel
  • You learn the choreography

Five reformers

  • Corrections given to you
  • Springs set with you
  • Progress noticed and mentioned
  • You learn the movement

Your reformer is waiting.

Five spaces per class. Choose your time, and we will do the rest.
